From learning to compromise to valuing each other’s individuality, we’ll explore what it takes to build and maintain a connection that makes both of you feel appreciated and loved. So if you want to know the 7 signs you’re in a thriving relationship, read on!

1. Your partner’s Emotional Well-being is a priority

Once two people agree to be in a committed relationship, they both inadvertently become responsible for making sure the other person’s emotional well-being stays healthy. After all, it’s a winning practice that keeps relationships stable and thriving.

Indeed, sometimes you may not feel you’ve impacted your partner’s feelings as they claim you did. And that’s perfectly fine. However, when genuinely caring about someone, you can acknowledge how they feel and put them first.

2. You Appreciate your partner and give constructive suggestions for areas of improvement

Acknowledging and expressing appreciation for your partner is an essential part of any healthy relationship. Constructive criticism is an important part of providing feedback. Telling each other you appreciate them (and showing it) gives them the desired results from their actions towards you.  It feels good to know that the efforts you put to ensure your partner stays in a happy place are well recognized.

By communicating thoughtfully and sensitively, you can give your partner useful suggestions for improvement without putting them on the defensive. This allows your partner to recognize where they can improve their behavior, while still feeling respected and appreciated.

Knowing your partner is a must, especially when it comes to requesting them to change. However, if you can successfully talk to one another about your wishes for improvement, you have a thriving relationship!

3. You give your partner room for individualism and decision-making

Understanding that your partner’s success is essentially linked to yours,  you try to create an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect in which they can work and grow. You recognize that the best results come from allowing each person to contribute their expertise and skills to the relationship without needing to impose their will.

You are committed to including your partner in big or difficult decisions, and even allowing them to take the wheel when you are feeling indecisive. This is the cornerstone of any successful relationship and it will ensure that you both can benefit from the unique gifts and talents of each other.

4. You empathize with your partner and support all endeavors

In a selflessly loving relationship, both partners empathize with each other’s experiences and emotions. You excel at putting yourself in your partner’s shoes, offering a listening ear, validation, and understanding.

Most people have created goals they want to accomplish while they are still single. Being in a relationship changes some goals but not all. Having the support of your partner to reach achievements is a sure sign that you are in a thriving relationship and your partner is worth it.

5. You encourage your partner’s emotional and mental support

Half way through the 7 signs you’re in a thriving relationship, we’ve reached number 5! Nobody wants to be in a relationship with a jackass. You understand that to feel that the love is real, you must be supported on an emotional and mental level, plus give that in return.

Being supported mentally and emotionally allows you to stress less, be more productive, and genuinely appreciate having someone to spend your life with.

6. There is  sacrifice and balance in the relationship

In these modern times, everyone has a hefty plate of responsibilities. It seems to me, that people in relationships have quadrupled that! With that said, It is important to know when to make sacrifices for the sake of balance (and sanity) in the relationship for it to maintain a healthy status.

I say “I’m done!” or honestly something much more vulgar because stuff gets chaotic! Having a well-balanced relationship keeps the profanity at a minimum ( except for those who cuss for nothing like my husband lol).

7. Your relationship is growing

It can be a slow winding road for some and a straight shot out of a cannon for others. Positive progress with minimal to no drama is a plus because no one wants a stagnant relationship. So no matter how you’re going, your relationship is gaining traction.

It can seem as if you’re standing still, especially if everything around you is still the same. Just looking back can let you know that your relationship has made some headway. That’s enough evidence to know your partner is worth it and that you are in a thriving relationship.
